Daniel Webb
Environmental Campaigner

After moving to Margate in 2016 to discover he had no plastic recycling available to him, Daniel Webb conducted an experiment – collecting every piece of plastic waste he generated for a year. Daniel then counted, categorised and photographed the 4,490 items and was commissioned to make a giant mural before co-authoring a seminal report based on rigorous analysis of the collection with academic researcher Dr Julie Schneider.

The experiment attracted extensive national and international press coverage and led to the official formation of Everyday Plastic, the organisation which Daniel founded in 2018. His next project – The Everyday Plastic Survey – will be a nationwide campaign aiming to engage educate families, schools, communities and businesses in the plastic problem.

Daniel is also qualified Chartered Institute of Marketing professional with over a decade’s experience working in marketing. For the last 5 years, he has run his own marketing consultancy, specialising in project-based work for clients from a range of sectors.
