Each summer, Margate’s skies fill with the high-speed magic of swifts returning from Africa. They’ve flown thousands of miles to nest here but their nesting sites are disappearing due to modern building designs. In the last 25 years, swift populations in the UK have dropped by over 60%, mostly due to habitat loss.

We say: not on our watch!

At Bon Volks, we’ve already installed 26 nest boxes in our neighbourhood, hosted swift weekends, and organised community events to bring people and wildlife closer together. We need your help to keep Margate’s skies full of swifts, and our community full of creativity, care, and action.
